Can You Use Kitchen Paint In The Bathroom

OH F**K! just realised bathroom paint is actually kitchen paint

DH has lovingly re-fitted our bathroom over the last week. Beautiful travertine tiles, lovely bamboo flooring, remote control shower. Only thing I have had to do is paint the wall and pipes where he will fit the sink and cabinet tonight. Was so pleased with the colour, thought I had got bathroom paint. But after job well done, i have noticed I picked up the wrong paint. It's Dulux Kitchen +, not bathroom paint (thank you lovely lady in B&Q 
DH due home in an hour. Does it really matter what paint is used?
Am hoping (against hope I suspect) it's all just a marketing ploy and this paint will be fine

According to the Dulux website bathroom paint is moisture and steam resistant and is protected against mould for 5 years whereas kitchen paint is matt and grease resistant.

am thinking cos it will be behind the sink won't matter too much. will go see if I can get the same colour in bathroom paint to finish of the bathroom. Looks like the kitchen might be getting a re-paint 
Think I might switch the paints so he doesn't notice and just tell him I liked the colour so much I want the kitchen in it too (hopeful emotion)

Nope, can't do that cos there is no colour even similar to the paint. WTF would people want just neutral colours in a bathroom?? will try Crown me thinks

please don't worry! Our bathroom has cheapy white matt emulsion which I painted 6 years ago and it still looks fine with no mould to be seen!!!

I really don't think it'll matter. I've only ever used normal paint, not bathroom, in the bathroom. Never had a problem. Nd kitchen paint will be better than normal stuff.....if there actually is a difference.

It might be worth getting something to paint over the paint with - a clear steam-resistant protection thing?
We had a clear spray we sprayed over our bathroom walls when they were painted, it was donated paint after a fire so it was meant for standard walls but the spray made it moisture resistant.

You're falling for a load of advertising bumf. No doubt one paint is slightly different to another, put mostly they all do the same job - change the colour of the wall!
Don't worry, it'll be fine. OUr walls are £8 for a massive bucket magnolia, and they take a fair old battering.
Bathroom sounds lush

as long as you have an effective extractor fan to remove the water vapour from the bathroom, I don't think the paint matters.

I painted my bathroom with kitchen paint and it's absolutely fine. Works fine, and is noticeably better than the plain white emulsion which was on the walls before.
